Maintenance

How to wash

To ensure the longevity of your wig, it is important to wash it in a specific manner. The following steps outline the best way to clean a blended wig:

In approximately one liter of lukewarm water, add a hazelnut-sized amount of shampoo designed for synthetic hair.
Gently shake the blended wig before immersing it in the water and shampoo mixture.
Allow the wig to soak in the shampoo solution for around 10 minutes. Synthetic hair shampoo is self-cleaning, so please refrain from rubbing or wringing the hair.
After approximately 10 minutes, rinse the wig with clear, lukewarm water. Again, do not rub or wring the hair.
To maintain the hair structure and keep the wig soft and pliable, it is recommended to rinse the wig or hairpiece a second time with hair balm.
Add a small amount of hair balm to a fresh water bath, and let the wig or hairpiece soak for another 10 minutes. Rinse thoroughly and let air-dry.

Note: Never rub your blended wig or hairpiece dry with a towel. Instead, you can carefully comb it with a soft, nubbed brush. The wig or hairpiece will return to its original shape after air-drying.

MAINTENANCE

Gently detangle the hair from ends to roots using a paddle brush or wide tooth comb.

Tum the wig inside out and wet the hair with lukewarm water from the top (cap) to reduce tangling.

Apply shampoo in a downward motion and rinse until the water runs clear. Do not rub the cap when washing.

Turn the wig cap back and repeat the above steps with cold water when applying the conditioner.

Gently squeeze out excess water and pat dry with towel. Do not roll or rub the hair into a towel.

Place the wig on a wig stand and air dry. We recommend using a smaller head size to avoid stretching the cap.

Use heat appliances when hair is completely dried.

Apply a small amount of hair lotion or serum, as needed.

If applying glue or tape, be sure to only apply on lace material.

How often should I wash or wear my wig?

You can wear your wig every day. It is recommended that you wash your wig every 4-5 wears.

What's the difference between a human hair wig and a synthetic wig?

Usually price as human hair wigs tend to be more expensive as they last longer and they are real. Human hair wigs are more realistic looking than synthetic wigs but human hair wigs require more care. Human hair wigs can last up to 2 years and synthetic wigs last around 6 months. Human hair wigs can be colored or dyed as you like, synthetic wigs cannot.

Synthetic wigs come already styled out of the box, human hair wigs need to be styled and maintained. Both wigs are great. It's just based on your own personal preferences and lifestyle as to which would be best for you.

Can I use a curling iron or heat on a synthetic wig?

Heat should never be used on Synthetic Wigs because it can cause damage to the fibres such as melting or matting.

There are wigs that are synthetic that allow heat and these are chemically treated kanekalon fibre wigs. On these types of artificial wigs, you can safely use heat appliances like curling irons, or straightening irons. See heat friendly fibre wigs below.

How will I know that the wig will fit or how to know my size?

Most our wigs fit 99% of the population and are "average" sized caps. Many of the wigs on our website include adjustable straps for sizing.

The sizes are 21 inches for small, 22 inches for average and 23 inches for large.

Can I swim in my wig?

Yes you can swim in your wig. If you are concerned about security, tapes and adhesives that can be worn that are water soluble and great for swimming while wearing your wig.

Will my wig fall off?

Do not worry. Your wig will not fall off. The wigs offered on our website are are very secure and do not fall off. You may also use tape or glue or adjust the sizing inside of the wig cap for a tighter fitting wig. Many customers also order a special ordered custom made wig to ensure that the wig is sized to suit.

Be sure to order the correct sized wig for your head and rest assured, it will not come off.

How do I put on lace wigs?

Some of our lace wigs require tape or glue to be worn and some do not. Usually the synthetic lace front wigs do not require tape and the human hair lace wigs do.

Why does my human hair wig look flat?

Unlike your own growing hair on scalp, these human hair pieces can no longer get nourishment and moisture from roots and can appear flat and lifeless as a result. This can easily be remedied by using the right products when washing, styling and storing your wigs.

Human hair products should be handled with care. The lifespan of a human hair wig, hairpiece or hair extensions largely depends on how they were worn and taken care of. Using incorrect shampoos/conditioners, frequently using heating tools, dyeing, heavily styling may shorten lifespan.

How do I apply a human hair lace wig?

Depending on the type of lace wig that you have whether it is human hair or synthetic, full lace or front lace, there are several options available to you if you desire to create a realistic hairline.

How do I make the scalp (lace on my lace wig appear most natural)?

We recommend you take a Q-tip or small brush and paint the lace. Always use the same colour foundation that you use on your face to match your skin tone best.

How long can I wear my full lace wig?

Full lace wigs that are applied with glue are meant to be worn for up to 30 days straight at at time. You are free to remove your wig sooner than that for washing but most people like to leave it on for a longer time. It's entirely up to you.

Return Policy

We want you to feel comfortable and confident when shopping at Curvytones, that’s why we offer a 7-day return policy. If there’s any quality issue with your purchase, please contact our customer service. If you are unsatisfied with your purchase for other personal reasons, you can contact us within 14 days of receiving your order, and you will receive a refund (minus service fees) for items returned in their original condition. You need to pay the return fees or you should return most new, unopened items. However, we still will refund you if the product has some quality issues ( damage). Please note that we can only issue the refund after we have received the returned items.

3. Items returned without authorization will not be accepted.
4. When returning or exchanging items, customers must use a shipping method that has tracking on it. Returns with no tracking will not be processed.
5. For return, any promotional gifts received must be included with the returned items. Otherwise, the retail price of the promotional gift will be deducted from the refund.
